Sheila Robinson-Kiss, MSW, LCSW is an award-winning orator, the author of five books focused on advancing health and wellness initiatives on a grass roots, national, and global scale. She is the founder of the Rebalancing America and Beyond Initiative - a national mental health and wellness platform dedicated to educating organizations, groups, communities and individuals about self-health and resiliency models. Sheila’s new series Eggshells, Racism, and Mental Health, focuses on hard topics from which all too often, people turn away.
In this chapter, Sheila talks with Tina Clements and gets real about her personal experiences; the fear, anger, reality, and affinity ushered in by the mounting racial tension, confusion about what comes next, and the perpetual eggshell dance with which we all deal.
Sheila’s series is a diverse collective of men and women, from all walks of life, sharing divergent and unique perspectives on a variety of issues related to racism and mental health. Ultimately, these illuminating conversations reveal the necessity for risking discomfort and creates space to share, learn, and grow.
